Company History
Since 1977, the name Model Technics has been synonymous with quality, consistency, performance and reliability. Our range of Model Engine Fuels, Glowplugs and Vinyl Products have been at the cutting edge of modelling technology and our extensive global network of distributors and retailers ensure that Model Technics products are readily available to the modeller wherever they may be.
Our aim back then was the same as it is now - to provide our customers with a consistent, high quality product and a level of service that is second to none.
Manufacturing Model Engine Fuels accounts for the vast majority of our business and, as such, we are the only company in the UK with the knowledge & expertise to constantly test and develop specialist lubricants and additives - packages that are designed specifically to work within the Model Engine environment. To put it simply - we are setting the standards that the others attempt to follow!
Indeed, the purpose built factory, which has the capacity to blend over 2 million Litres of fuel p.a., was designed ‘from the ground up’ by the directors purely to manufacture Model Engine Fuels. As you would expect with handling such hazardous materials, various safety features have been designed and built into the manufacturing process to minimise the risks of fire and explosion. Even the roof of the factory is designed to collapse in such a manner as to leave the building structure intact should the unthinkable actually happen.
Accurate metering and stringent quality control methods, along with multi-stage filtration ensures the level of consistency that Model Technics’ fuels have become renowned for. All of the constituent materials used in our products are of top quality and are regularly tested to ensure that they meet our exacting standards.
Large capacity tanks, buried underground, store the various solvents and lubricants used which are then piped to the blending tower, around which the production is centred. The unique ‘Molecular Blending Process’, as its name suggests, blends the constituent materials at a molecular level preventing them from ever separating back out again.
Batch production methods give the ability to handle large volume orders whilst retaining the flexibility to ensure that any order (regardless of size) is processed within the shortest time possible.
